ABOUT OUR PHILANTHROPY

Arthritis

Alpha Omicron Pi’s international philanthropy is arthritis, and our philanthropy partner is the Arthritis Foundation. Since 1967, members and chapters have raised millions of dollars to fund research, provide resources, and support those affected by arthritis, a disease that disproportionately impacts women and also affects children.

AOII’s philanthropy dollars support several impactful Arthritis Foundation initiatives, including the Juvenile Arthritis Power Pack program, Juvenile Arthritis Camps, the Juvenile Arthritis Family Summit, and the 24/7 Helpline. Our Canadian sisters proudly support The Arthritis Society of Canada, furthering our shared mission to fight arthritis and improve lives.

OUR Local Efforts

At the Kappa Alpha chapter at Indiana State University, service and philanthropy are an important part of who we are. We are proud to support both AOII’s national philanthropy, the Arthritis Foundation, and our local philanthropy, The Happiness Bag, which serves adults with disabilities in the Terre Haute community.

Throughout the year, our sisters come together through fundraising events, service opportunities, and philanthropy events that make a meaningful impact both on campus and in the local community. Supporting organizations that uplift and care for others is something our chapter is deeply passionate about.

Philanthropy at Kappa Alpha is more than an event or fundraiser. It is a chance for our members to give back, grow closer as sisters, and make a positive difference in the Terre Haute community.
